62nd Dialogue on Race, Racism and Ethnicity

We held our 62nd dialogue this weekend and the topic "White Privilege: Heirs and Targets" led to a deep discussion. Some highlights included:

"White privilege is too nice of a term for what it really is." Sanyika

"feeling racism 24/7--360." Renee

"You can be white and have a hard life, but it's not hard because you're white." Clayton

on cultural appropriation "those types of disproportionate experiences happen on a college campus." Jabari

"Seeing when the 'they' is an us--the 'they' within ourselves needs to be checked." Chelsea

Laney College Screening cancelled

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our event this coming Friday, February 19th,  has been CANCELLED.

Screening of "Living Room Revolution: The Race Dialogues" and Panel Discussion at Laney College on 2-19-16

Come to the screening of our film "Living Room Revolution: The Race Dialogues" at the Odell Theater in Laney College (900 Fallon St. Oakland, CA 94607) this coming Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. 

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Karl Debro, Debrah Hailu, Mary Webb, Chancellor Laguerre, and hosted by Rose Aguilar of "Your Call Radio," KALW 91.7FM.

Reception is at 6:30 p.m. and the program is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Tonight is the 60th dialogue. Most of the people featured in the film have been members for a long time. Deep topics are discussed at every dialogue, and we have a lot of fun."
